  • Torang Trust was founded in the year 2005 by the joint efforts of Dr. Ram Dayal Munda , great tribal scholar and leader and former Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University and former Member of Parliament (Upper House of the Parliament of India) & the member of National Advisory Council, Dr B.P.Keshri, former professor of Ranchi University, Dr. Vasavi Kiro, Journalist turned social activist and other eminent personalities of Jharkhand.

  • Protection of Child Rights

    Torang Trust works on Right to Education among marginalized children. The trust envisages to focus on education of young girls and boys and to develop their personality. Our critical area of concern is to reduce girl child dropout rates and to save them from being trafficked and effective implementation of POCSO Act.

  • Livelihood Initiative

    The Trust has started lemon grass cultivation in 70 acres of land at Bundu block of Ranchi district under World Food Program funded by Government of Jharkhand. Oil extraction machines have been installed in the village itself. Villagers have been trained for the purpose. Forthcoming plan is to increase area of cultivation up to 100 hectares for which land is available. Building of a check dam for the irrigation purpose is under process. We are also developing value addition of Mahuwa and tamarind. Mahuwa is a major source of means of livelihood for people who are dependent on the forest produce in Jharkhand.

  • Women Empowerment

    Empowerment of women is necessary so as to enable them to articulate and leverage their cause .Torang Trust aims to empower women economically through various income generation activities. Skill development and Upgradation through various training programs is done at a regular basis, Awareness programs regarding health care, traditional tribal health practices, medicinal plants, are also conducted on regular basis. Women are main collectors of mahuwa, tamarind and chiraunji . It's a major livelihood source of their family. Value addition of mahuwa has enabled women to generate more income thus enabling them to look after their family and their requirements. Women SHG have been formed enabling women to generate income and utilize it to run their small businesses, sharing of knowledge to develop Mahuwa Laddu, Mahuwa Jelly and Mahuwa Tonic. Women are running Hodopathy Ethno Medicine clinics /centre in Ranchi and Bokaro.

  • Jaipal Singh Academy (English Medium School)

    Torang Trust is running an English medium school in Ranchi, located at Budhi Jaher, Horhap Forest Road, Tatisilway. Named after legendary leader Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh, the school aims to inculcate in the students those five virtues that Jaipal Singh excelled; namely, Sports, Academics, Oratory, Leadership and Rootedness in one's culture and language. The school was inaugurated on January 3rd, 2020, on the 117th birth anniversary of the Leader. The school has huge campus and infrastructure is getting further constructed to take the capacity of intake upto Std 12.
